The Odisha Government on Saturday announced Unlock guidelines for the month of August which has been prepared keeping in mind the prevailing Covid19 pandemic situation in the State.

The guidelines are expected to help the authorities to devise strategies in their respective jurisdictions and act as guide for the people to follow the necessary Covid-19 protocols.

SRC Pradeep Jena said that the fresh guidelines will remain in force from August 1 to September 1, 2021. He said that out of the total 30 districts in Odisha, Covid-19 cases are almost negligible in 27 districts. However, the graph is high in districts including Puri, Khordha and Cuttack. Despite this, the situation is not at all concerning, he said.

As per Jena, the night curfew will remain in force in all districts from 8 pm to 6 am. The weekend shutdown restrictions will continue in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri districts.

All the shops and commercial centres across the State will remain open till 8 pm everyday and in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri town on weekdays

During the weekend shutdown, vaccination will continue at places as notified by the State Health and Family Welfare Department..

It is pertinent to mention here that the Covid19 graph is showing a downward trend in most parts of the State.

However, the daily case load, especially in few coastal districts including Cuttack and Khurda districts (including Bhubaneswar city), has been high and worrisome with fears of a third wave lurking in the near horizon.

On Saturday, 1,578 fresh Covid positive cases were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the cumulative State tally to 9,77,268 so far.
