Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Sanjeev Balyan was on Sunday attacked with ink in Puri on Sunday.

The Minister was on a visit to Puri today. In the evening, while he was passing through Market Square, workers of Chhatra Congress threw black ink at his vehicle. 

A commotion followed the incident with police rushing to the spot and chasing away the Chhatra Congress workers. 

As per reports, the Chhatra Congress workers launched a protest against skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel and essential commodities and threw ink at the vehicle of the Union Minister. 

Notably, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra was also attacked with black ink and tomatoes by Chhatra Congress workers near Jhadeswari chhak in Puri on Wednesday.

During the incident, workers of Chhatra Congress had attacked the senior BJP leader and shown black flags to protest against the rising inflation and increasing prices of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinder. 

Patra had gone to Puri to lodge his protest against the ongoing construction work under the Puri Srimandir Heritage Corridor project.  Ink was thrown at him when he was on his way back.
