Barely a week after the chief security officer of Tarang Studio at Khordha’s Sarua was brutally attacked by some local goons, a group of people on Friday met the sub-collector accusing the studio of preventing the villagers from entering their farmland.

This is not the first time such allegations have been brought against Tarang Studio. However, this time the reason seems to be a well-planned conspiracy by two brothers (Mathura Mahabhoi and Dilip Mahabhoi) and Sarua sarpanch Ranjeeta Mahabhoi (who is daughter of one of the conspirators).

As per reports, Tarang Studio was providing work contracts to the Mahabhoi brothers. The studio had also made agreements with the duo for the contract works according to which, Dilip and Mathura have been allotted a contract work worth Rs 1.98 crore and Rs 49 lakh respectively.

However, the studio cut off all ties with the duo after they continued to involve in some anti-social activities.

Hence, the two brothers are now leaving no stone unturned to conspire against Tarang Studio. The duo has stooped so low that they are now using their sarpanch daughter, and a few innocent villagers and their supporters to quench their vested interest.

“I had approached them a couple of times. They had promised to allow the passage to our farms. But, they just allowed once or twice and then blocked the road. Security guard asks us take another route. How can I travel 4 km to reach my farmland which is just 200 mts away,” alleged one of their supporters.

“That is one of the largest farmland areas in Sarua. Most of the people here depend on the farmlands for their livelihood. So, they should be allowed the passage to reach their farmlands,” said sarpanch Ranjeeta.

Moreover, it is alleged that Begunia BJD MLA Rajendra Sahu is the man behind the conspiracy against Tarang Studio. One of Sahu’s supporters even admitted that they had assembled outside the Collector’s office on the orders of the MLA.

“Most of us here are the supporters of Begunia MLA. We will always stand by the people here,” said the supporter.

When contacted, the Additional District Magistrate said that he had received a complaint and necessary steps will be taken as per law. “We have received a complaint. We will take action after hearing the statements of both the parties,” he added.
