Three dead, one hurt as bikes collide in Keonjhar

In a tragic incident, three persons were killed while another critically injured after two motorcycles collided head-on in Keonjhar district of Odisha on Tuesday.

The mishap took place at Dianali Chhak under Patana police limits in the district.

The deceased were identified as Trilochan Mahanta of Ambuapada village, Ramakant Nayak of Sorasakela village and Sunil Dash of Rudhiapada village.

Kamalakant Mahant sustained grievous injuries in the mishap.

As per reports, Sunil and Ramakant were on their way to Patna on a motorcycle, while Trilochan and Ramakant were coming from the opposite side riding another two-wheeler. On the way, the two motorcycles collided head-on, leaving all of them critically injured. 

They were rushed to the Patana Community Health Centre (CHC) in an ambulance by fire services department personnel.

While two of them died during treatment at the hospital, another succumbed to injuries while being shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Police have seized the bodies of the deceased and sent them for autopsy. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
