In a critical surgery, doctors at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur successfully removed a steel glass from the intestine of a patient.

The 45-year-old patient, who underwent the critical surgery, hails from Balipadar area under Buguda block of Ganjam district. He worked at a cotton mill in Surat.

As per reports, the victim had a booze party with his friends about 10 days back when they allegedly inserted the steel glass in his anus in an intoxicated condition.

The victim started experiencing acute pain in his stomach soon after the incident. Though he never revealed the matter to anyone, he returned to his village after the pain became unbearable. His stomach started swelling as he could not defecate.

Finally, he went to MKCG hospital and told the doctors about the incident. After consultation, the doctors performed an X-Ray and found that the steel glass was stuck in the patient's intestine.

Initially, the doctors tried to take out the glass through the rectum but failed. Later, the doctors advised the patient to go for a surgery.

On the advice of the doctors, the victim underwent a surgery and the glass was successfully removed from his intestine. The doctors said the victim is stable after the surgery and is recovering.
