The Puri Civil Judge Senior Division court on Friday accepted petition filed by the Puri Lawyers' Association and sent notices to multiple parties including the Centre, National Monuments Authority (NMA), Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Puri Collector.

Notices have also been sent to Puri Municipality, TATA Projects, Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation (OBCC) and Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (STJA) chief administrator.

The Court has directed to file response and scheduled the next hearing on June 26.

A slew of decisions, including shifting of the Jagannath Reception Centre from the prohibited area under the Srimandir Parikrama Project to a farther location, was taken in a meeting which was chaired by Puri King Gajapati Divyasingha Deb on Wednesday.

Besides, the proposed outer access road to the project will now be moved out of the project area and constructed after acquisition of more land. This apart, some more changes will reportedly be done as per the direction of ASI DG.

Moreover, the sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) court in the pilgrim town on Wednesday ordered filing of case against Puri District Collector, OBCC and Tata Projects.

While hearing a petition filed by an advocate over the ongoing project, the court asked the Singhadwar Police to register the case.
