Where is Ollywood actor Tanmay Mohanty, popularly known as Babushaan? The suspense over his whereabouts is now doing rounds as the actor, who had left for Chennai to attend Utkal Diwas celebrations and promotion of his upcoming Odia movie, has not returned Odisha yet.

Even though the entire team of ‘Daman’ movie reached Bhubaneswar on Monday, the popular actor wasn’t seen with the crew at the airport.

Director of Daman movie, Devi Prasad Lenka said, “Babushaan was disturbed following the turn of events in Bhubaneswar and was not in a position to go on the stage. As a courtesy, the producer had not allowed him.”

According to Lenka, Babushaan had accompanied the team to Chennai, but could not attend the event due to the incident that happened in Bhubaneswar. "I think he (Babushaan) needs some time. To avoid any untoward incident and as a courtesy, the Producer had asked Babushaan not to go on stage," he said.

“We held a discussion with Babushaan on the incidents that happened in the last two days and it was decided to give him some space. For this reason, we had left him in the hotel. After we reached the hotel, we found that Babushaan had already checked out. We tried calling him, but his mobile was switched off. We have no information or any idea about his whereabouts,” director Vishal Maurya.

Producer Dipendra Samal said, “When I found that Babushaan was not in a position to address a gathering of 1,000 and 1500 people, I took a call of allowing the actor to take rest so that he can join us again during next promotion event.”

Responding to the statements of the Daman movie production team, actor Babushaan’s team released a statement.

The actor’s team said, “Complete wrong information being circulated. Babushaan was ready to leave for the event but unfortunately the Producer asked him to stay back and was trying to involve himself in his personal matters.”

The statement further read, “It’s the producer of the movie who asked Babushaan to stay away from Daman and even quoted that he will ensure the movie releases without Babushaan’s presence in the upcoming promotions…This was extremely humiliating and upsetting for Babushaan as an actor and for us also as his team.”

The timing of Babushaan's absence has raised several questions as three days have passed since the Kharavela Nagar police served him a notice in connection with the case pertaining to the high-drama that was witnessed between the actor, his wife Trupti and actress Prakruti Mishra on Bhubaneswar street. Two separate cases have been registered based on the complaint filed by Babushaan's wife and actress Prakruti Mishra's mother.

Meanwhile, Prakruti Mishra’s mother Krishnapriya posted some photographs with her daughter and other family members who are presently in Chennai.
