Ahead of Trinity’s Snana Yatra, Puri district administration has decided to revamp Snana Bedi.

Giving more information about this, Puri District Collector Samarth Verma on Tuesday said, “Some portion of the Snana Bedi needs repairing. That’s why the administration in collaboration with Archaeological Survey of India will carry out its repair work. Besides, second coordination meeting will be held Wednesday for the smooth conduct of the chariots’ constructions and world famous chariot festival.”

On May 23, the first coordination meeting for the world-famous Ratha Yatra in Puri was presided over by Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division) Suresh Chandra Dalei. Puri legislator Jayant Sarangi, IG Police, Central Range, Narasingha Bhol, Secretary, Daitapati Nijog Ramkrushna Das Mohapatra and senior servitors took part in the meeting.

Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division) had instructed the officials of the municipality, water, works, sanitation and other departments to work in coordination and complete various pending works. In the meeting, it was also decided to restart the Sri Jagannath Bana Prakalpa this year to ensure the availability of wood for the chariot making in future.
