A Shakti Kunda has washed ashore near Light House on Puri beach on Tuesday.

According to sources, the Shakti Kunda is said to be the part of a Shiva Linga which is a union symbol of Shiva and Shakti. When we make offerings to the Shivalinga, we invoke Shiva and Shakti simultaneously to acknowledge the fact that Shiva and Shakti are not separate. The Shakti Kunda is believed to be built in the age of Ganga dynasty or may be prior to that.

Meanwhile, people in large numbers rushed to the beach to see the ancient Shakti Kunda. Intellectuals demanded that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) launch a probe into it to ascertain the origin of this Shakti Kunda.

Last month, a mysterious gold-coloured chariot washed ashore at Sunnapalli Sea Harbour in Andhra’s Srikakulam district during cyclone Asani in the area. And the news spread like wildfire across the country.
