An elaborate security blanket has been put in place in Odisha in view of the two-day visit of President Droupadi Murmu to the State starting November 10.

The police department has decided to deploy more than 55 platoons of police forces for the security of the President as per the blue book rules. In addition, at least 300 senior police officers will be in-charge of the safety and security of the President, who hails from Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.

The stretch from the airport to Raj Bhawan will be under high security cover. The President is scheduled to visit various places and attend various programmes in the Capital city during her visit.

This will be Murmu’s first visit to Odisha after assuming the office of the President of India. According to sources, she will reach Bhubaneswar in the morning and head to Puri Srimandir to seek obeisance of the Holy Trinity.

Later, she will return to Bhubaneswar and will be given the guard of honour. The President is also expected to visit Tapoban High School in Khandagiri, Unit-2 Government Girl’s High School and Kuntala Kumari Sabat Tribal Hostel on November 11.

The Commissionerate police is expected to hold the full dress rehearsal for the guard of honour tomorrow.

According to the schedule, she will also visit Jaydev Bhawan and inaugurate Odia textbook for engineering and a portal (e-Kumbh) before flying back to New Delhi.
