In good news for Gram Rozgar Sevaks (GRSs) and other employees working under the MGNREGS scheme in Odisha, the State government has decided to revise their monthly consolidated remuneration.   

A decision to this effect has been taken in the 12th meeting of the executive committee of the MGNREGS Odisha society. An expenditure of Rs 14.55 crore has been approved by the committee.   

As per the decision, the monthly consolidated remuneration of newly-engaged GRSs will be hiked to Rs 10,100 per month from existing Rs 7,000. Similarly, GRSes, who have successfully worked for more than one year and less than six years, will now draw a salary of Rs 10,900 per month instead of Rs 8500. Moreover, GRSes, who have successfully worked for more than six years, will get Rs 11,100 per month instead of Rs 8880.   

The committee has also decided to revise the monthly consolidated remuneration of the contractual employees working under MGNREGS on an outsourcing basis.

The monthly remuneration of MGNREGS Assistant will be hiked from Rs 10,000 to Rs.12,500 while ACP will draw Rs 12,500 per month instead of Rs 10,000. Similarly, DEO will get Rs 11,100 per month instead of Rs 8,880. The peon, night watchman and security guard will get Rs 10,900 per month instead of Rs 8,800.  

Moreover, a committee will be constituted to examine the proposal for enhancement of the monthly consolidated remuneration of all other MGNREGS functionaries working on contractual basis. On the basis of the report of the committee, further action will be taken.
