Jajpur: A man from Dahanahata village under Dasarathpur block in the district lied down in front of the vehicle of the Project Director of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Jajpur on Tuesday demanding a pucca house under Government’s housing scheme.

As per reports. the man identified as Pandav Sahu was frustrated after repeated rejections from several officials in the district administration for a pucca house under Awas Yojna.

After running pillar to post, from the sarpanch in his village to the district Collector, he finally decided to take the extreme step and lied down in front of the official vehicle of the PD DRDA, Vishal Singh while he was on an official tour to Dasarathpur block.

“I have run at least 10 times to the BDO and every time he sends me back with false assurance. I am in a dire need of a house. My brothers have kicked me out of the house and my children are homeless,” said a grieving Pandav.

He was immediately rescued from the spot by the security staff and other officials of the Block and directed the officials to address his grievance.

Meanwhile, the BDO of Dasarathpur, Narayan Chandra Nayak said, “The man’s father has property including a pucca house. We are reviewing his application. He will be provided a house if found eligible."
