A resident Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar, Ratnakar Sahoo, has been adjudged the winner of the prestigious Shambhavi Puraskar-2022 for his outstanding contribution to the field of education. 

The jury members unanimously decided Sahoo as the winner of the award for his commendable job in educating children in slums. 

Sahoo has founded an organisation named ‘Ashayen’ through which he is working towards transforming the lives of slum children by providing them education. Besides imparting education to slum children, ‘Ashayen’ is also known for spreading awareness about health, sanitation, cleanliness, de-addiction and good and bad touch.

Similarly, Chinmayee Das of Jarapada in Angul district will be receiving this year’s Shambhavi Jury Commendation Certificate Puraskar-2022 for her commendable job in health sector. 

The annual Shambhavi Puraskar, instituted by the Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation, the CSR wing of IMFA group, is being conferred upon those working not only towards bringing in social change but also motivating others to follow their footsteps, since 2014. 

Notably, social workers Khirod Sahoo and Nibedita Lenka were the recipients of Shambhavi Puraskar-2021 and Shambhavi Jury Commendation Certificate Puraskar-2021, respectively. While Sahoo was selected for his outstanding contribution to the field of health and education in Angul district, Lenka, a resident of Bhubaneswar city, was chosen for the coveted honour for setting example for others through her excellent social work.
