With mystery shrouding the death of Ollywood actor Raimohan Parida, the Commissionerate Police has launched a probe into the case both from suicide and murder angles.

As per reports, the noted Odia film actor and jatra artiste Parida was found hanging at his residence in Bhubaneswar's Prachi Vihar area on Friday. Earlier it was suspected that the actor ended his life by suicide while the reason for taking such an extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, police have started questioning Parida's two daughters, son-in-law, wife and nephew. Even Parida's mobile phone has been seized and handed over to the technical team for analysis. Meanwhile, the police have stated that the actual reason for death can be ascertained after receiving the viscera and post-mortem report.

"Prima-facie evidence indicates that it is a suicide, however, we can't disclose the fact of evidence as we have not yet arrived at any conclusion. We will investigate every minute detail. Based on the demands of the family members, we are investigating the case.," said Himanshu Bhusan Swain, IIC,  Saheed Nagar.

Further, Swain added, "As stated in the FIR, the family members have not filed any complaint, but have only demanded to know the reason of death. We have collected the required evidence and are waiting for the post-mortem report so that we can ascertain the actual reason for death."

Responding to the questions over the investigation into the murder angle, Swain said that it is a mandated procedure in such cases even for any common man's death, the investigation is done from different angles.

It is noteworthy to mention that while speculations were rife that the actor resorted to taking such an extreme step, many of his colleagues and supporters stated the incident to be unbelievable.
