The Ministry of Railways has planned to restore four pairs of trains in the East Coast Railway jurisdiction.

The announcement was earlier made by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on June 21 during his visit to Konark to attend the International Day of Yoga event.

The restored trains are: Puri-Sai Nagar Shirdi-Puri Express, Puri-Paradeep-Puri Express, Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack MEMU Special, Visakhapatnam-Koraput-Visakhapatnam Intercity, Visakhapatnam-Brahmapur-Visakhapatnam Express, Palasa-Cuttack-Palasa Passenger Special and Puri-Talcher-Puri MEMU Special.

List and Schedule:

18414/18413 Puri-Paradeep-Puri Express: This train will leave from Puri at 0615hrs and from Paradeep at 1800hrs.

08438/08437 Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack Special: This train will leave from Cuttack at 1155hrs and from Bhadrak at 1530hrs.

18512/18511 Visakhapatnam-Koraput-Visakhapatnam Inter City Express: This train will leave from Visakhapatnam at 1350hrs on every Monday & Friday w.e.f. July 1. This train will leave from Koraput at 0525hrs on every Tuesday & Saturdays w.e.f. July2.

18526/18525 Visakhapatnam-Brahmapur-Visakhapatnam Express: This train from Visakhapatnam will leave at 1500hrs daily w.e.f. 14th July. This train from Berhampur will leave at 0945hrs w.e.f. July 15.

08534/08533 Palasa-Cuttack-Palasa Passenger Special: This train will leave from Palasa at 0415hrs w.e.f. July 15. This train from Cuttack will leave at 1615hrs w.e.f. July 16.

08414/08413 Puri-Talcher-Puri Special: This special train from Puri will leave at 1700hrs w.e.f. July 12. This train from Talcher will leave at 0545hrs w.e.f. July 13.

20857/20858 Puri-Sai Nagar Shirdi-Puri Express: This express train will leave Puri at 2305hrs on every Friday w.e.f. July 15,. This train from Sai Nagar Shirdi will leave at 1410hrs on every Sunday w.e.f. July 17.

It is pertinent to mention here that all the above-mentioned trains were cancelled in view of Covid19 protocols from 2019.

Now, the East Coast Railway has achieved 100% compliance of Linen Service on its originating Trains. This facility in all the 63 Trains originating from the East Coast Railway jurisdiction has been resumed. Linen services in trains were withdrawn to break the chain of Covid-19 infection.

Earlier, the Ministry had planned to run 205 special trains to and from Puri during Rath Yatra period for smooth travel and convenience of pilgrims.
