Private bus driver beats up OSRTC conductor at Baramunda bus stand, detained  

An OSRTC bus conductor was allegedly beaten up by the driver and helper of a private bus at Baramunda bus stand in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. 

Acting on the complaint lodged by the conductor, who has been identified as Dillip Kumar Sahu, the Bharatpur police have detained the private bus driver and launched an investigation.  

According to Sahu’s allegation, he was about to leave the bus stand for its destination at 6 am. While coming out of the bus stand he found the road obstructed by two private buses. 

“I asked one of the drivers to allow me space to go. At this, one driver got exasperated. He then started hurling abuses at me and beating me up,” said Sahu. 

Baramunda OSRTC station in-charge Lokanath Mohanty said, “The private bus drivers and helpers are causing trouble to our staff on a regular basis. It would be better if exemplary action is taken against the trouble makers.”
