Hundreds of members of LGBTQIA plus community and their supporters on Sunday took out a pride march in Bhubaneswar, celebrating the pride month. Each year, pride month is celebrated in the month of June.

Waving rainbow flags and sporting faces painted with the rainbow-hued pride flags, a large number of members of LGBTQIA plus danced along the stretch starting from Master Canteen square to Ram Mandir square.

“We want the society should accept us as we are. We want society should treat us like others. We are born like this. There is no abnormality. This is not a disease,” said a reveller.

Meera Parida, draped in a rainbow saree, said, “For the rights, dignity, respect of LGBTQIA plus, the month of June has been dedicated. We want to send out a message that like others, we are also the creation of God. Hence, we deserve respect and equality in the society.”
