Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and workers of Odisha offered prayer at various temples in their areas on Sunday for the victory of NDA’s Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu in the forthcoming elections.

BJP Bhubaneswar unit leaders led by State party President Samir Mohanty lightened lamps at Lingaraja temple and performed yagna at Bibhisaneswara temple for Murmu.

Meanwhile, Puri MLA Jayant Sarangi lightened earthen lamps and offered prayers at Jagannath temple in Puri. Other party workers also offered puja praying for Murmu’s win.

“Draupadi has blessings of Lord Jagannath. It is a proud moment for us and all the citizens of Odisha that a female candidate is going to be elected as the first citizen of India,” said senior BJP leader Bishnu Sethi.

In Rourkela, Saffron party workers offered prayers at Sector-3 Maa Mangala temple.

“All of our party workers are offering prayers for NDA’s Presidential candidate. We wish victory for her. She will make Odisha proud,” said Latika Patnaik, a BJP leader.

In Bargarh’s Bhatli, BJP workers lightened lamps at Dadhibaman swami and Kushanpuri Jagannath temples.

Meanwhile, the Chief Whip of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Prashant Muduli announced that all the party leaders will support Murmu for the post of President.

“It is a proud moment for us. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has instructed us to support the daughter of Odisha. We are ensuring full support from BJD,” Muduli said.

NDA coalition candidate Draupadi Murmu on June 24, had filed nomination for the Presidential election in presence of several top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda.
