President Droupadi Murmu will come to Odisha on a two-day visit starting November 10. This will be her first visit to the State after assuming the office of President of India.

According to sources, President Murmu will reach Bhubaneswar on November 10 morning and will go straight to Puri Srimandir to seek obeisance of Holy Trinity. Later, she will return to Bhubaneswar and where she will be accorded civic reception at Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

After spending night at the Governor's House, President Murmu will visit Tapoban High School in Khandagiri, Unit-2 Government Girl’s High School and Kuntala Kumari Sabat Tribal Hostel on November 11.

Later in the day, she will visit Jaydev Bhawan and inaugurate Odia textbook for engineering and a portal (e-Kumbh) before flying back to New Delhi, sources informed.

People, set to come in close contact with President Murmu, will undergo RTPCR Covid test. This apart, use of N-95 masks will be made mandatory for all during the event.

“We have received an official communication regarding President’s visit to Puri. A Chief Secretary-level meeting was held yesterday which was attending by several top officials. We have also scheduled a district-level preparatory meeting ahead of her visit,” said Samarth Verma, Puri Collector.

Puri Superintendent of Police Kanwar Vishal Singh said, “We are making elaborate arrangements to make sure the protocol is followed strictly. We are also eyeing at minimal incontinence to the local residents. We will carry out a full-dress rehearsal on November 9.”
