Sex racket operating from guest house busted in Berhampur; 10 arrested

The Berhampur Police on Tuesday busted a sex racket that was running in the garb of a guest house and arrested 10 persons in this connection.

The raid team led by Berhampur Superintendent of Police (SP) also rescued four sex workers from the guest house.

According to sources, the SP had received a tip-off about the illegal activities being carried out at a guest house at Berhampur’s premier location Tata Benz square.

Following the tip-off, a plan was hatched by the SP to catch the accused red-handed. As per the plan, the SP himself went to the guest house in plain clothes. Later, he alerted the cops of Gosaninuagaon and Baidyanathpur police stations who jointly conducted a surprise raid and made the arrests.

A case was registered and all the 14 people including the sex workers were taken to the police station where they are being interrogated, police said.
