The prices of petrol and diesel have been hiked for the eleventh time in the past 13 days. The prices of petrol and diesel registered an increase of 85 paise in Odisha on Sunday. With the latest price revision, petrol is now being sold at Rs 115.53/ litre while diesel prices have reached Rs 100.23/ litre in Bhubaneswar.

On Saturday, petrol and diesel prices were increased by 86 paisa and 85 paisa per litre, respectively. People in different parts of the state expressed resentment over the steep rise in the prices of petrol and diesel as they apprehend further increase in the prices of essential commodities in coming days.

Apart from Odisha, petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs 103.41 per litre as against Rs 102.61 after a hike in the prices by 80 paisa.

The diesel rates have gone up from Rs 93.87 per litre to Rs 94.67, according to a price notification of state fuel retailers. This is the 11th increase in prices since the ending of a four-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on March 22. The petrol prices have so far gone up by Rs 8 per litre, sources said.
