The Odisha Television (OTV) Limited has announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh to the bereaved family of Journalist Arindam Das who lost his life in line of duty while covering rescue operation of an elephant along with an ODRAF team at Mundali barrage in Cuttack on Friday.

Managing Director of OTV, Jagi Panda while announcing the compensation to the family of the frank and fearless journalist said, "Losing Arindam is a colossal loss not only for me but for our entire organization. There will never be another Arindam."

Panda added, "No amount of monetary compensation can fill the void he has left in our lives. His family is now our family n we will take care of them."

In her tributes to the late journalist, Panda stated, "In the last 23 years of OTV's journey, I have not seen a more fearless journalist than Arindam anywhere in entire Odisha. His demise is not only a loss to OTV but the whole State. I salute the mother who gave birth to such a brave reporter," she said.
