The Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has suspended bus services on several routes in Maoist-affected districts in the State in view of red-rebels martyrs' week from Thursday till August 3.

Similarly, inter-state bus services have been suspended apprehending any untoward incident by the ultras during the martyrs' week observance.

According to OSRTC, the bus services will remain suspended on Berhampur-Balimela, Berhampur-Umerkote, Berhampur-Rayagada and Berhampur-Bhawanipatna routes. 

 

 

Similarly, more than 43 OSRTC buses plying between Koraput and Malkangiri will remain off-road during the period. 

With no OSRTC buses available, passengers are facing difficulties in commuting to Malkangiri, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, 
Bhadrachalam, Paralakhemundi, Phulbani, Motu, Katagaon and Janbai areas.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened at Jaynarayanpatna, Boipariguda, Pottangi and Bandhugaon areas to avoid any untoward incident.
