Smoothies are a super way to get your daily dose of veggies and fruits. And of course, you are allowed to cheat once in a while with chocolates too - and yes, chocolate is vegan. The key lies in having a balanced, tasty smoothie without overdoing the calories. Explore these super easy recipes to make your vegan smoothie

1. Almond Banana Smoothie

Almonds and bananas are a super mouth-watering combination - both healthwise and taste wise. Don’t miss out on this super special combination with smoothie.

  • 1 cup almond milk (or cashew milk if you prefer)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 banana sliced or chopped into pieces
  • 1 cup frozen fruits (you could include seasonal favourites like pineapple and papaya)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp - chia seeds
  • 1 tsp sugar (this is optional)

Keep the sliced banana aside. Put the rest of the ingredients into a blender and blend smoothly. Pour it into a glass and add the chopped banana pieces on top. If you like you could add some shredded almonds on top for that extra crunch

2. Black Forest Smoothie

How about a cuppa hot chocolate for a wintry morning? But wait, why be satisfied with just chocolate when you can add oats, almond milk, and chia seeds to add to the bite in your smoothie?

  • ¼ cup shredded and melted dark chocolate (melt this for 30 secs - 1 min in the microwave
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1.5 cups almond milk
  • 1 ripe banana
  • Melt the chocolate, cool it to room temperature, pour it in with all the other ingredients in a blender and voila, your black forest smoothie is ready.

3. Warm Banana Smoothie

Bananas are usually an integral part of any fruit based smoothie since they lend sweetness and creaminess to the concoction. And it’s healthy too as bananas boost serotonin production, which relaxes you. Plus a banana based smoothie needs no added sugar. Here’s how you can make this dairy free smoothie to start your day.

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • Any plant based milk (coconut milk is great for use with this smoothie)
  • Some warm water (to dilute the creamy mix a little)
