Odisha Govt offices to remain closed on these days in 2023; check holiday list

The Odisha government on Tuesday announced the holiday list for 2023. As per the notification issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, the government has declared that the state government offices as well as revenue and magisterial courts (Executive) will remain closed on festive/ commemorative occasions.

The list of holidays for the state government offices for the calendar year 2023, Saka Era, 1944-45

1. Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti/Vir Surendra Sai Jayanti: January 23, 2023

2. Republic Day/ Basanta Panchami: January 26, 2023

3. Maha Shivaratri: February 18

4. Dola Purnima: March 7

5. Holi: March 8

6. Ram Navami: March 30

7. Utkal Divas: April 1

8. Good Friday: April 7

9. Maha Vishuva Sankranti/ Dr. B.R Ambedkar Jayanti:April 14

10. Budha Purnima/Birthday of Pandit Raghunath Murmu: May 5

11. Sabitri Amabasya: May 19

12. Pahili Raja: June 14

13. Raja Sankranti: June 15

14. Ratha Yatra: June 20

15. ID-ul-Zuha: June 30

16. Muharram: July 28

17. Independence Day: August 15

18. Jhulana Purnima: August 30

19. Ganesh Puja: September 19

20. Nuakhai: September 20

21. Birthday of Prophet Muhammad: September 29

22. Gandhi Jayanti: October 2

23. Maha Saptami: October 21

24. Maha Navami: October 23

25. Vijaya Dashami: October 24

26. Rahasa Purnima: November 27

27. X-Mas Day: December 25

Apart from the above-mentioned holidays, the state government employees will be allowed to avail one holiday at their option on any one of the festive occasion/ commemorative days listed below irrespective of their religious affiliation/ denomination with the written permission of the authority, competent to sanction casual leave.
