Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday embarked on a three-day visit to New Delhi. As per reports, Patnaik is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at at 4.30 pm Monday.

The BJD supremo’s Delhi visit assumes significance in view of the Presidential election which is on the cards.

Though the agenda of the meeting has not been revealed by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) yet, several national media reports said the two leaders are likely to discuss several important issues including the Presidential election. President Ram Nath Kovind will be completing his tenure on July 24, 2022.

Apart from the Presidential election, other issues pertaining to Odisha pending with the Central government are likely to be discussed by the two leaders.

Naveen Patnaik had visited Delhi on a five-day tour in April this year. Patnaik then had clearly stated that the BJD was undecided on whom to support in the forthcoming Presidential election. “There is still some time for the Presidential elections and therefore no thoughts at this moment,” Patnaik had said.
