The Odisha Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved supplementary budget of Rs 19,380 crore while giving its nod to as many as 24 important proposals including job reservation for para athletes.

Among the significant proposals, the State Cabinet approved the Odisha Electronics Policy, 2021 and ordinance for vesting of the management Lingaraj Temple affairs, its property including temples situated within and outside its premises, sacred places & mutts, in a Committee for better administration and governance. 

Here are the highlights:- 

Construction of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science & Research, Trauma Care & Surgery complex with casualty at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar with an investment of Rs 235 crore has received the Cabinet nod.  

The State Cabinet has approved a five year budget provision amounting to Rs 484.10 crore to be utilised for providing subsidy to the entrpreneurs under Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY). 

Framing of the 'Odisha Horticulture Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditioris of Service) Amendment Rules, 2021' has also received the approval of the State Cabinet.

The State Cabinet has given green light to amend Industrial Policy Resolution 2015 by adding a section to provide Special Incentives to New Age Mega Industries.

The government has decided to provide post facto approval for 'State Government Guarantee' extended in favour of the Aska Cooperative Sugar Industries Ltd. (ACSI) which availed cash credit loan of Rs.15.00 crore from the Aska Cooperative Central Bank to meet the payment of cane dues to the sugarcane growers in time for the crushing season 2018-19.

Amendment of the Odisha Civil Services (Combined Competitive Recruitment Examination) Rules, 1991 has also been approved.

In order to ease the process of recruitment to the cadre of District Judge and to postulate the manner of seniority of the Officers in a recruitment year it is decided to amend the Odisha Superior Judicial Service and Odisha Judicial Service Rules, 2007.

The Cabinet has approved Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojna (MMSY with an outlay of Rs 2000 crore over a period of 3 years i.e. from 2021-22 to 2023-24. An outlay of Rs 5182 crore has been approved for implementation of Biju Setu Yojana" (BSY) over a period of 3 years i.e. from 2021-22 to 2023-24. 
The State Cabinet has further approved Draft Odisha Artisan Grade Stone Policy, 2021 and its implementation in the State.

Other important decisions that received the Cabinet nod included construction of Parbati Giri Mega lift irrigation project, in-stream storage in river Suktel, 12 mega pipe water supply schemes in Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Balasore, Gajpati, Kandhamal, and Koraput districts with an estimated cost of around Rs 1800 crore.
