Odisha government on Thursday approved 196 posts for the upcoming new 28 permanent police outposts in the State. Of the total posts, 28 are sub-inspector rank officers and 168 are constable posts.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved these posts in Odisha Police by way of retribution, an official release read.
All the above mentioned personnel will be deployed at the 28 newly set police outposts for effective management of law and order and crime control. Sources said, each police outpost will be manned by one sub-inspector and six constables.
The deployment and creation of new posts is certainly expected to add more teeth to the existing police stations in different parts of the State for maintaining better law and order in view of expansion of cities and towns. The new posts will be created as per the Odisha government's ORV Act and in accordance with all the recruitment rules.
