In a tragic incident, two minor siblings were killed after drowning in the Luna river in Puri district today. The children were playing in the flood water when they got swept away by the strong current.
As per reports, both the minor boys, identified as Satyajit Pradhan (2.5 years old) and Happy Pradhan (7 years old) were sons of one Sadasiba Pradhan of Nagana village under Dhanakera panchayat in Delang area.
Sadasiba, a labour, who works as a migrant labourer in Gujarat for livelihood is away from home while their mother Rajani Pradhan was busy in the kitchen when the tragic incident occurred. The minor siblings went out to play in the backyard of their house while their mother was busy in household chores. Flood water has reached their backyard following the incessant rains earlier this week.

When the kids did not return home after a long time, their mother went out to the streets searching for them.
However, after Rajani failed to locate the brothers in the village, several other villagers joined her and launched a hunt for the missing kids. The siblings were later found in the vicinity of their home in critical condition after they were washed away by the strong water current.
They were immediately rushed to the Kanasa hospital. Later, as their condition deteriorated they were referred to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. However, the siblings were declared dead on their arrival at the Capital Hospital, reports stated.
