A National Lok Adalat organised in Cuttack JMFC Rural Court reunited a couple on Sunday who had been living separately for over last five years in Odisha.

As per reports, Pramodini Pradhan of Choudhwar had married Gagan Bihari Biswal Of Palasola village in Jagatsinghpur district in 2015. However, matrimonial discord rose between them two years after their marriage.

Following the development, Pramodini filed a domestic violence (DV) case in the Cuttack Family court in 2017 and a bitter legal battle continued in the court with any outcome.

A National Lok Adalat was held on Sunday at Cuttack JMFC Rural Court, in which hearing into Pramodini and Gagan's DV case was conducted. During the hearing, the judges counselled both the parties and reunited them after 5 years of separation.

Elaborating on the judgment of the Lok Adalat, D Anup, Government Advocate, told mediapersons that the couple were heading towards divorce but after counselling by the judges, they decided to reconcile while ending the long standing matrimonial dispute.
