As part of the precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, the Nandankanan Zoological Park administration on Monday clamped restrictions on picnic inside the State Botanical Garden.

As per a notification issued today, picnic will remain prohibited for the visitors from January 1 to January 31, 2022.

The restrictions are in line with the recent order issued by the State government to check the spread of Omicron. The authorities, however, clarified that the entry of visitors into the State Botanical Garden will be allowed. Visitors can get entry tickets in offline as well as online mode.

“The visitors are requested to follow COVID appropriate behaviours,” the notification read.

The zoo officials informed that the refund for Pindis/ Cottage which had been booked earlier and FRHs will be made within 10 working days. It is pertinent to mention here that the Nandankanan Zoological park is closed for visitors till January 3, 2022.

The decision was taken as a precautionary measure to prevent massive crowding of visitors who were expected to throng the zoo during the New Year revelries.
