Mo Bus, other private buses on Bhubaneswar-Konark route stay off roads, commuters at wits’ end

With Mo Buses as well as private buses going off the road on Konark-Bhubaneswar and Kakatpur-Bhubaneswar routes on Friday, commuters have been left fending for themselves.

The bus services on the above mentioned routes have been hit owing to the ongoing tussle between the Mo Bus authorities and Konark and Nimapara Private Bus Owners’ Association.

Since both Konark and Kakatpur are famous tourist destinations, a large number of visitors come to these two spots on a regular basis. Most of them depend on bus services to reach these places. These tourists are now facing problems in reaching these places. They are seen arranging their own arrangements to reach their destinations.

The Konark and Nimapara Private Bus Owners’ Association has suspended the service on Konark-Bhubaneswar and Kakatpur-Bhubaneswar routes. The association has alleged the Mo Buses plying between Bhubaneswar and Konark are running without permit.

Besides putting their buses off the road, the association has also made the Mo Buses coming to Konark stop at Konark bus stand.
