Desperate and helpless mother of missing toddler Pihu of Madhusudanpur village under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur district, Monalisa Nayak on Monday approached the district Additional-Collector and demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.

The anxious mother submitted a letter to the additional collector addressing the President of India seeking permission for euthanasia.

It is pertinent to mention here that the two-year-old girl ‘Pihu’ (Subhalaxmi Nayak) had gone missing while playing in front of her house on August 9, 2020. Even as 20 months have passed since she had gone missing, the police are yet to trace the toddler.

Nayak had been running from pillar to post and requesting police and the district administration to trace her daughter. However, her pleas have yielded no result.

Left with no other option, Nayak finally demanded for CBI inquiry into the case.

“I have requested the government to order a CBI inquiry into the matter or else grant me permission for euthanasia. If as common citizens, we don’t have the right to demand justice then we don’t have right to live,” said Nayak.

Further, Nayak added, “Since 20 months, I have been making rounds of several offices seeking justice. I won’t be able to live without my child anymore.”
