MCA girl student found hanging in Bhubaneswar

Even as mystery continues to shroud the death of a girl in BJB College hostel three days ago, another girl student died under mysterious circumstances in Bhubaneswar.

The body of the deceased, a student of MCA stream in a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar, was found hanging inside her rented room in Acharya Vihar area. The deceased has been identified as Ashrita Senapati.

The girl is suspected to have ended her life by suicide. Police have launched a probe in connection with the case after recovering the body of the deceased. 

A note, suspected to be a suicide note, has been recovered from the spot. However, the exact reason behind her death is still unclear.

As per initial reports, Ashrita hails from Bhadrak district and it was five months back that she started  staying at the rented accommodation in Bhubaneswar.

Brajendra Mishra, owner of the house, said, “At around 10 am the student’s father called me and asked me to check on her as she was not picking his call. When I went to her room, she did not respond nor opened the door. I had immediately informed the matter to her parents.”

Mishra further informed that the door was subsequently broken in presence of police.
