A man, who had allegedly plotted a missing drama to get rid of his two wives, has been arrested by Commissionerate Police on Monday, after a gap of five years.

The man, identified as Sanjay Pradhan, was arrested by the Saheed Nagar police.

According to sources, Pradhan was married to a girl in Jaleswar area of Balasore district in 2015. Later, he fall in love with another woman from Saheed Nagar area in the State capital and tied the nuptial knot with her in 2017.

However, he suddenly went missing days after his second marriage, sources informed.

Pradhan’s father Mania Pradhan had then lodged a missing complaint at Athagarh police station. 

Moreover, he had also lodged a complaint at Saheed Nagar police station accusing his son was murdered by the family members of his second wife.

Acting on the complaint lodged by Pradhan’s father, the police had launched a manhunt and was successful to nab him after five years by tracking his mobile phone.

“I got married in 2015. But, my first wife did not want to live with me. Then, I got married for the second time in Saheed Nagar. No cases pertaining to my first marriage are sub-judice,” said Sanjay.

“There was no whereabouts of my son. I had lodged a missing complaint with Athagarh and Saheed Nagar police,” said Sanjay’s father Mania Pradhan.

Meanwhile, the Athagarh police is questioning Sanjay and his father in connection with the case.
