As Odisha continues to be on the boil over the murder case of Kalahandi lady school teacher Mamita Meher, the Opposition parties have intensified protests across the State for justice to the deceased’s family.
While the protests continued, another State Minister on Tuesday faced the anger of the agitators when he was greeted with a shower of eggs in Nuapada district.

As per reports, protesters allegedly belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) waved black flags to Odisha transport Minister Padmanava Behera and hurled eggs on the car he was travelling in. Behera faced the wrath of the agitators at Tarboda while he was on his way to distribute Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) smart health cards at an event in the district.
Opposition activists have been targeting the Odisha government as well as the ruling party leaders seeking justice for Mamita and the resignation of MoS (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged role in the murder of the school teacher.
Earlier on Monday, Women & Child Development Minister Tukuni Sahu and Minister of State Tourism and Culture Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi faced the ire of the protesters during their visit to Kalahandi district. The protestors pelted eggs on their vehicles and waved flags as a mark of protest.
In a similar incident on November 7 agitators had hurled eggs and waved black flags to Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra during his visit to Junagarh.
Agitators Burn Effigies Of CM, Home And Law Minister In Kendrapada
Meanwhile, several BJP workers staged a protest in front of the Kendrapada block office today. The agitators raised slogans demanding the suspension and arrest of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra alleging his involvement in the brutal murder case of Mamita.
BJP's district president, Kishore Panda led the protest involving hundreds of workers of the saffron party. The agitators burned the effigies of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Dibya Shankar Mishra and State Law Minister Pratap Jena during the protest.
