BJP National Vice-President Baijayant 'Jay' Panda has sought the intervention of the Ambassador of India in Singapore to bring back the Odia family stranded in the South-East Asian country.

As per reports, Sanket Mohapatra, a resident of Uparada village in Sundargarh district, has been working in Singapore since 2015. He lives with his family there since the last seven years.

The family has been trying to return to India since last two years for the treatment of their parents. However, unfortunately the Odia family is not able to come back due to Covid-19 induced restrictions.

The desperate Odia family had recently requested the BJP National Vice-President to help them return to their native place.

Responding to the request, Panda has written to the Ambassador of India in Singapore seeking the latter’s cooperation on facilitating the return of the Odia family to their native land.

Earlier in October this year, a youth from Odisha who had been stranded in United Arab Emirates (UAE) returned home safely following diplomatic intervention by Panda.

Notably, the BJP leader has been continuously aiding distress migrants from Odisha, stranded in different parts of the globe, return to their native place safely.
