Two jawans have earned kudos for solemnizing the marriage of an orphan girl recently. Both the jawans bore all marriage expenses of the girl starting from throwing a feast to buying jewellery for the bride.

Sources said marriage of the orphan girl, who resides at Anandpur under Bari block in Jajpur district, was finalized long back. Due to financial crisis, she was not able to get married.  After learning it, SSB jawan Chiranjit Behera, who is a resident of the same locality, decided to solemnize the marriage of the orphan girl. Another jawan Sangram Nayak who is deployed at Nepal border joined Chiranjit to conduct the orphan girl's marriage. Also, some local youths came forward to help both the jawans and all of them together conducted the orphan's marriage on June 26.

It is learnt that Chiranjit got to know about the girl from his mother following which Chiranjit informed about it to Sangram. They made up their mind to accept that girl as their sister and solemnize their marriage. And to conduct their marriage, both the jawans took leave and came to Bari and solemnized her marriage on Sunday.

Sangram said, "I came to know about it from Chiranjit. And we decided to solemnize her marriage as her brothers. Some local youths and senior citizens inspired by us and helped us financially and physically to conduct the marriage."

Chiranjit says, "The orphan girl has lost both of her parents. Her father passed away three years back while her mother died seven years back. She has a brother who is not financially sound. This is why I thought of solemnizing her marriage as per the Hindu tradition. This deed gives us inner satisfaction."
