In Minor IAS Rejig, Sambalpur Gets New Collector

The Odisha government on Monday carried out a minor reshuffle in the IAS cadre and appointed Dibya Jyoti Parida as the new collector of Sambalpur Collector replacing Shubham Saxena.

Parida, a 2016 batch IAS officer, had been serving as the Commissioner of Rourkela Municipal Corporation with additional charge of CEO, Rourkela Smart City Ltd., ADM, Rourkela and Secretary, Rourkela Development Authority. 

"In exercise of the powers conferred under section 20(1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (Act II of 1974), the State Government do hereby appoint Dibya Jyoti Panda, IAS as the District Magistrate in the district of Sambalpur," read a notification issued by the general administration and public grievance department. 

Saxena, a 2013 IAS officer, has been transferred and posted as the Joint Secretary to Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Department. He has been directed to get himself relieved immediately by handing over charge to the ADM, Sambalpur and join his new place of posting. 

Shubhankar Mohapatra, a 2018 batch IAS officer, who had been serving as the sub-collector of Baliguda. Kandhamal with additional charge of Executive Officer, NAC, Baliguda and PA, ITDA, Baliguda has been appointed as Commissioner of the Rourkela Municipal Corporation. 

He has been allowed to remain in additional charge of CEO, Rourkela Smart City Ltd. ADM, Rourkela and Secretary, Rourkela Development Authority in addition to his own duties.
