The Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA) celebrated its 60th foundation day at the factory in Choudwar of Cuttack district on Friday.

Employees, who have been working for over 10 years in IMFA, were felicitated during a programme to mark the occasion. Moreover, meritorious students of the area were also felicitated at the function.  

The programme began after the garlanding of IMFA's founder, Dr. Bansidhar Panda's statue. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Prem Khandelwal and IMFA's Deputy Chairman Binay Agrawal along with several other senior officials were present at the occasion. 

IMFA's Managing Director and CEO Subhrakant Panda said that November 26 marks IMFA's 60th foundation day as well as the 90th birth anniversary of its founder Dr. Bansidhar Panda. “Working on business expansion plans would be the best way to pay the founder the tributes,” he added. 

Shedding lights on the business expansion plans, IMFA's MD said, "We have already received government approval for 1 lakh tonne expansion annually. The project will be set up in Jajpur's Kalinga Nagar and we are waiting for land allocation by the government. We are hopeful to begin works for the project by next year following the allocation of land."

Further, he said that the upcoming project will increase the company's capacity and will also enhance employment opportunities.
Deputy Chairman, Binay Agrawal, said, "Employees working for over 10-35 years were felicitated with Long Service Dedicated awards for their dedication and contribution towards the company."

Senior Administrative Officer and HR head of the company, G Sarada Prasad Rao said, "IMFA's strength is its family comprising the workers. The workers remain associated with the company for a long time and they consider the company as a part of their family. This is the main reason behind our growth for which we have felicitated them for their immense contribution towards company's growth. Today, we have felicitated around 126 employees at the programme.”
