In a major relief for vehicle owners, Mo Seva Kendras across Odisha have started providing booking facilities for affixation of High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) in vehicles.

The availability of the HSRP booking facilities at Mo Seva Kendras came as a big relief for people who may not have access to the internet or do not have knowledge of technology to apply online. Now, they can easily apply for the HSRP booking by visiting their nearest Mo Seva Kendras. This will be particularly helpful to people in remote areas where internet facility is poor.

The State Transport Authority (STA) has requested Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) to make necessary arrangements in this regard.

The STA has also asked all OEMs (Vehicle Manufacturers) to open the HSRP help desk at all RTO & ARTO offices to provide HSRP booking facility to vehicle owners at RTO offices.

The OEMs were also instructed to organise camps at 88 locations and other places where dealer network of all OEMs is not available.

In a press release, STA further informed that fitment of HSRP with old and existing locally manufactured trailers and vehicles registered prior to 01.04.2019 whose manufacturers have closed down their businesses can be done at the RTO from where the vehicle is purchased. This facility can be provided only at RTO offices through the Vahan application.

In accordance with Central Government amended Rule 50 of CMVR and Notifications/Statutory Orders from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the Transport department has made affixation of HSRP mandatory since June 1st, 2022 for all classes of old vehicles that were registered prior to April 1, 2019.
