Haryana Police Team Faces Public Ire After Detaining Woman On Fraud Case Probe In Odisha

High drama unfolded at Khantapada police station in Balasore district on Sunday as a scuffle broke out between some local residents and a team of Haryana police carrying out probe in connection with a fraud case.

As per reports, the Haryana police team had come to the area to investigate a fraud case allegedly involving a local resident. 

However, as the probe team failed to find the person, it brought the mother of the accused to the police station for questioning over the case with the help of Khantapada police.

Later, after some local people reached Khantapada police and enquired about the detention of the woman, a scuffle erupted between them and personnel of Haryana police. 

A video of the incident soon began to do rounds on social media in which a cop purported to be a personnel of Haryana police was seen brandishing a gun towards the protesters.

Surprisingly, several of Khantapada police personnel were reduced to mere spectators during the incident reportedly due to the presence of some influential political people among the public.  

No comments could be available either from the Khantapada Police, locals or the Haryana police officials.
