With the Winter Session of Parliament all set to begin from tomorrow, MPs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Odisha are all set to corner the ruling-BJD over a slew of issues, especially the rising cases of crimes against women.

Speaking to OTV, BJP MP Suresh Pujari on Sunday said that the party will raise several issues from the Pari murder case to the sensational murder of lady teacher Mamita Meher in the Parliament.

"We will definitely try to raise the law and order situation in Odisha where crimes against women are on the rise. From Pari to Mamita murder case, the Odisha government has been silent on all the issues. Law is not allowed to take its own course in the State," said Pujari.

The Bargarh MP further said that the BJP will take up the border issues with Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand. Besides, the party will highlight how Central schemes are being hijacked by the Odisha government, depriving the beneficiaries of getting the benefits.

Pujari also urged political parties to help run the Winter Session smoothly. "Last session of the Parliament was completely washed away. So, we urge parties to put their issues during the session for discussion instead of disrupting the business," he added.

On the other hand, Odisha Congress has said that it will also take up the unabated rise in crime against women in the State during the upcoming Assembly session.

Congress MLA Sura Routray said, "We will raise the rising prices and law and order situation during the Assembly session. Our nine MLAs will also take a decision regarding whether to let Minister Dibya Sankar Mishra enter the State Assembly."
