Fourth edition of eco retreat in Konark from December 1

The fourth edition of the popular beach festival-Eco Retreat- at Konark in Puri district will begin on December 1 this year. The event will continue till March 15, 2023.

Collector Samarth Verma chaired a meeting with all the stakeholders in this regard on Thursday. He has suggested that this year's Eco Retreat festival should be organised in a more interesting and entertaining manner. 

As per the decision, 70 luxury tents will be set up for visitors on the beach in which facilities similar to star hotels will be provided. 

During the festival, arrangements like water sports, beach sports and indoor games will also be made available for visitors. In addition, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, mobile network as well as health care facility, fire fighting system, parking arrangements, security arrangements and 24X7 hours lifeguard facility will be provided to visitors. 

It has also been decided that cultural programmes will be organised for tourists. The Collector has asked all departments to work in coordination and cooperate with the tourists coming from outside.

Last year, eco-retreat festival was held at seven locations- Konark, Satakosia, Bhitarakanika, Daringibadi, Hirakud, Pati Sonapur and Koraput.
