The Odisha Higher Education Department on Monday instructed the principals of all colleges across the State to lodge FIR at the local police station against students who have submitted fake disability certificates to get admission.

The order was issued by the department Secretary after reports of admission into a college in Bhadrak by submitting fake disability certificates surfaced recently.

In a letter, the Higher Education Department Secretary, Saswat Mishra asked the Principals of all government and private colleges to scrutinize disability certificates submitted by candidates during admissions. 

In the letter, Mishra also has also asked the principals to get the disability certificates verified by the Chief District Medical Officers (CDMO) of their respective districts. 

Further, Mishra has also warned to take stringent action against the students found to have submitted forged disability certificates. Moreover, the Secretary has instructed to invalidate the candidature of students who have submitted fake certificates.
