Senior Congress leader and MLA Suresh aka Sura Routray on Tuesday expressed dissatisfaction over Odisha government after he was allegedly misbehaved by a security official deployed for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup at Kalinga stadium here in Bhubaneswar.

The foreign security guard allegedly misbehaved with Routray while the latter tried to enter the stadium with help of an official pass issued to him.

Expressing shock and condemning the incident, Routray levelled serious allegations that the concerned security official not only misbehaved but also shoved him out of the gate by holding his arm.

“The Odisha government had issued a pass as a district athletic president. The security guard not only misbehaved but shoved me by holding my arm near the gate,” said Routray.

The Congress strongman said being a football player and lover of the beautiful game, he often visit stadiums to felicitate players of hockey and cricket and football.

“I was hurt and I could have easily given a strong reply to the security guard if it was not my state. But I stopped myself from creating any nuisance as today it is a big occasion,” said Routray.

The legislator blamed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for such mismanagement. “You (CM) will enter the stadium as a king while we were handed over a mere pass,” Routray said adding that if the pass was not valid why it was handed over.
