A woman Physical Education Teacher (PET) was found hanging in a room at Hatat colony in Umerkote area in Nabarangpur district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Tanuja Biswas and she was working with Jamrunda residential girls high school.
According to sources, Tanuja was at home when her father went to the market to have breakfast. When he returned home, he found her daughter hanging.
Informed about the incident, Umerkote police rushed to the spot and seized the body.
Later, the police handed over the body to the family members after conducting post-mortem.
The police have also recovered a suicide note from the spot in which Biswas had held no one responsible for her death.
“From primary investigation, it is found that she has ended life by suicide. Further investigation into the matter is on. We have recovered a suicide note from the spot,” Nihar Ranjan Pradhan, Umerkote Sub Divisional Police Office (SDPO) said.
