A former Indian Air Force officer went missing from Nayapalli area of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday under mysterious circumstances.

The missing officer has been identified as Ajit Kumar Khuntia- a resident of Damayanti Apartments at Behera Sahi in the State capital.

As per reports, Khuntia went out of his flat for evening walk on May 10 (Tuesday), but never returned.

The family members searched at every possible location but failed to locate him after which his wife Bijaylaxmi Nayak registered an FIR at Nayapalli Police station.

Speaking to OTV, Bijaylaxmi said, “We waited for three days for his return and searched everywhere, then I went to the police for help.”

“He was an Air Force officer and quite strong both mentally and physically. I hope police can locate him and bring him back to us,” she said.

A few days back, former Aska MLA Saroj Padhi also reportedly went missing from the Capital city.

According to the missing report lodged by his son Sangeet Padhi, his father had left home at 8 am on May 11 and didn’t return.

The former legislator had gone to his house at Unit 6 in Bhubaneswar and from there he went incommunicado, he claimed.
