Paramita Satpathy has been honoured with the State’s foremost literary award for her novel 'Abhipreta Kala'.
Eminent Odia Fiction Writer Paramita Satpathy Conferred With 42nd Sarala Puraskar
Noted fiction writer from Odisha, Paramita Satpathy has been conferred with the prestigious 42nd Sarala Puraskar, instituted by IMPaCT, the charitable wing of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA).
Satpathy was honoured with the State’s foremost literary award for her novel 'Abhipreta Kala'. She was presented with a citation, trophy and Rs 5 lakh by trusty Paramita Panda at a programme organized on Tuesday in compliance with the Covid guidelines issued by the State government.
Daughter of renowned poet Pratibha Satpathy and Nityananda Satpathy, Paramita has penned seven short story collections and several other novels. Her short story collection 'Prapti' was recognised with India's top literary honor, the Kendriya Sahitya Akademi award for Odia in 2016.
Similarly, noted painter Jagdish Kanungo and eminent Ghumura artiste Jayanta Behera were felicitated with the Ila–Bansidhar Panda Kala Samman 2021 today. They received a citation and Rs 1.5 lakh cash award each.
Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), the charitable wing of IMFA Ltd which is the leading and the only fully integrated producer of ferroalloys in India has been continuously pursuing to recognize and foster excellence in literary field through its annual Sarala Puraskar instituted by eminent Odia Industrialist Late Dr. Banshidhar Panda and Late Mrs Ila Panda in the year 1980.
Sarala Puraskar is one of the finest contributions of IMPaCT to glorify Odia literature. The Ekalabya Puraskar also has been set up by IMPaCT to encourage promising sports talents of Odisha'.
