Traffic police in Bhubaneswar are in action mode with launch of ‘Black Screen’ drive to put a check on the growing trend of crime.

As a part of the exercise, raids are being conducted at various locations in the Capital city. Personnel of Traffic police are conducting vehicle inspection at several checkpoints. Cars found with black tinted windows are being removed while their owners are penalised.

In the last three days, illegal tinted films have so far been removed from as many as 51 cars and Rs 25,000 has been collected as fine from them.

“So far we have removed black screen from 51 vehicles. In coming days, the drive would be intensified. We have enforced the drive in accordance with the Supreme Court guidelines so that common citizens don’t face any problem while commuting. To prevent heinous crime is the main objective of this drive,” said ACP, Traffic Police, Swastik Panda.

With a view to carry out crime or other illegal activities, black films are intentionally used on the windows of the cars. The traffic police are now cracking whip on such vehicles.
